Five Jays Records presents the original scores from STOP SUSAN WILLIAMS and THE SECRET EMPIRE, two segments from the 1979 television anthology CLIFFHANGERS!, written and directed by Kenneth Johnson (THE BIONIC WOMAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, V: The Original Mini-Series). The show was inspired by and emulated the movie serials of the 1930s and 1940s. Under the umbrella title CLIFFHANGERS!, three separate serialized made-for-TV movies would be told simultaneously, shown in separate 20-minute segments during each of the series' hour-long episodes.
Previously, there was a two-disc set released of the music from CURSE OF DRACULA (JHCD 031), the lead feature on CLIFFHANGERS! and now fans of the other two adventures, STOP SUSAN WILLIAMS and THE SECRET EMPIRE, can enjoy more of these loving tributes to those thrilling theatrical serials of yesteryear.
Beloved composer Joe Harnell teamed up once again with creator/producer Kenneth Johnson and delivered memorable scores for CLIFFHANGERS, much as he had done on other TV projects including THE INCREDIBLE HULK, the original “V” mini-series, HOT PURSUIT, and the pilot for ALIEN NATION. Harnell also composed music for the soap opera SANTA BARBARA (available on Dragon’s Domain Records DDR672).
