Dragon’s Domain Records presents THE DAN REDFELD COLLECTION, featuring music composed by Dan Redfeld for various productions, beginning in 1994 and continuing to the present.
After collaborating with Dan Redfeld on several albums of film music arrangements for chamber ensemble and solo piano, THE DAN REDFELD COLLECTION is an opportunity to present for the first time a number of Dan’s own dramatic film scores. These films run from 1994, very early in his musical career, to very recently, threading between his abundant work in orchestrating, performing, and conducting in jazz, classical, and film musical fields. Most of these scores are for short films, and they range from Coplandesque Americana to jazz compositions, festive tangos to French café accordion music, heavy percussion and ethnic winds to modern day electronica. These short movies offer a unique glimpse into the composer and highlight the variety of his work in the field of composing film music.
Award-winning American composer, conductor, orchestrator, pianist, and producer Dan Redfeld has had his music and arrangements performed internationally from the concert hall and the musical theatre stage to the recording studio. Redfeld received his training at Boston’s New England Conservatory before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he graduated with a degree in composition with an emphasis in conducting. Instructors include composers William Thomas McKinley, Irwin Kostal and David Raksin, and conductors Jon Robertson, Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, and Roger Norrington.
Dragon’s Domain Records presents THE DAN REDFELD COLLECTION, featuring music composed by Dan Redfeld. The music has been mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and the liner notes are written by author Randall Larson and include the participation of the composer.
