BSX Records presents THE EDWARD DAVID ZELIFF COLLECTION, VOLUME 3, featuring music composed by Edward David Zeliff for several projects from his filmography.

ALTERNATIVES was one of the many religious media 16mm films I scored that were produced as educational and inspirational presentations to church congregations. These stories dealt with social and personal issues and were derived from actual situations which were dramatized and filmed to be distributed to churches across the United States.

COCK A DOODLE DANDY SUITE was a play by the Irish playwright Sean O’Casey that was staged by the Los Angeles Actor’s Theatre and directed by Donald Moffat. I was brought on board to supply pre-recorded incidental and source music, mainly a setting of an old children’s song that was recorded for an actor to lip sync with in the live production. I had supplied similar music for Ralph Waite’s premiere production that he directed and starred in, The Hairy Ape.

JOURNEY TO JERUSALEM was a play that I wrote and directed for presentation in a Catholic church where I served as the Director of Music. I utilized the adult choir, the children’s choir, and the teenage musicians who participated in the Music Ministry of the church with me throughout the year. The play was effective and inspirational for everyone involved and the audiences who viewed it, and served as a major fund raiser for the church. There was incidental music throughout the play as well as several original choral pieces that I wrote for inclusion in the production.

Edward David Zeliff, composer, pianist, arranger, and conductor, completed his Bachelor of Music in Composition at the California Institute of the Arts, and earned his Masters and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Composition from Claremont Graduate University. He spent many years in the religious, student, and secular film communities composing and conducting scores for short subjects and features, leading studio orchestras in London and Los Angeles. Dr. Zeliff is currently Music Director at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Claremont, California.

BSX Records presents THE EDWARD DAVID ZELIFF COLLECTION, VOLUME 4, featuring music composed by Edward David Zeliff presented for the very first time. The music has been mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and the liner notes have been written by the composer.
