Once upon a time is now! Rykodisc presents music and poetry from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the cult classic television show that ran from 1987 to 1990, created by Ron Koslow, starring Ron Perlman (HELLBOY) as Vincent and Linda Hamilton (THE TERMINATOR) as Assistant D.A. Catherine Chandler, along with the great Roy Dotrice as Father, featuring music composed by Lee Holdridge and Don Davis.
Released once before on compact disc in the late 1980’s and out of print for many years, Rykodisc now presents a new release of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: OF LOVE AND HOPE, with the contents newly remastered for improved sound.
This remastered CD features 24 tracks including music and poetry from the show, as read by Perlman and includes the classic theme to the show composed by Lee Holdridge.
Don Davis has had a distinguished career as an orchestrator for many composers such as Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner and has had great success as a composer in his own right, working on television projects like SEAQUEST DSV, Peter Benchley's THE BEAST, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and film projects like BEHIND ENEMY LINES, WARRIORS OF VIRTUE, JURASSIC PARK III, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL and, most recently, THE MARINE.
Lee Holdridge is a multiple Emmy Award winner and has had a long and successful career writing music for film, television and documentaries, on projects such as THE BEASTMASTER, SPLASH, EAST OF EDEN, THE MISTS OF AVALON, OLD GRINGO, MOONLIGHTING, TEXAS, THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN and many others.
