BSX Records presents the soundtrack release of DEAD SOLID PERFECT, featuring music composed by Tangerine Dream (SORCERER, THIEF, RISKY BUSINESS) for the 1988 drama written and directed by Bobby Roth (HEARTBREAKERS, THE MAN INSIDE, RAINBOW DRIVE), starring Randy Quaid, Kathryn Harrold, Jack Warden, Corinne Bohrer, Brett Cullen, Larry Riley, DeLane Matthews, and Bibi Besch.

Based on the novel by Dan Jenkins, DEAD SOLID PERFECT first aired on HBO in December 1988. The term ‘Dead Solid Perfect’ is an old expression that refers to when golfers hit the ball at the perfect angle. It’s also the goal for Kenny Lee (Quaid), a touring pro from Fort Worth, Texas who has his ups and downs on the professional circuit. Kenny’s caddy, Spec (Riley), matches him up with a flamboyant, wealthy sponsor named 'Bad Hair' Wimberly (Warden). Wimberly convinces Kenny to return to the lucrative country club circuit of sponsorship tours. Kenny is married to Beverly (Harrold), an upper-middle-class woman from Dallas who is getting impatient with his insensitive behavior. When Beverly is hospitalized to have tests for a tumor, it teaches Kenny a lot about how much he cares for her, and how much they care for each other. Her spirit keeps him going and he starts giving extra attention to his putting at the U.S. Open. More than ever, Kenny is inspired to score a dead solid perfect shot.

The music for DEAD SOLID PERFECT was composed by the pioneering German electronica band Tangerine Dream. Founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream is a ground-breaking musical act that veered away from the influence of traditional Anglo-American rock/pop and instead relied upon hypnotic rhythms, sustained drones, musique concrète, tape-music looping techniques, and the proliferation of early synthesizers. Throughout their seven-decade existence (which continues to this day) the band has released over eighty-five studio, extended play, or mini albums, fifty-two motion picture scores, and a handful of episodic television or video game scores.
