Mark Northam began studying the piano at age 4 and spent his early years studying classical music, followed by studies in jazz in his teenage years. After high school he toured the US with a number of acts including his own "Mark Northam Trio", a jazz-fusion group playing the hits of Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Pat Metheny and others. In 1993 Mark came to Los Angeles to study film scoring and composition and received a certificate in Film Scoring from UCLA Extension in 1995, and from 1995 – 2001 scored 12 films and various television shows including "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" and co-wrote a new score for the restored 1927 silent film "The Scarlet Letter". Mark continues to enjoy recording Hollywood themes and jazz standards for solo piano.
