Although the project represented an exciting collaboration, the film failed to make an impact in the American market. As a result, it received only a VHS release in the United States and has remained largely unavailable in any other home video format, making it one of the more elusive thrillers of the late 1980s.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eComposer Craig Safan joined the production during one of the busiest periods of his career. Simultaneously scoring feature films such as LADY BEWARE while working on numerous television projects, including TIME STALKERS and SECRETS OF THE TITANIC, Safan found the time to create a richly atmospheric score for THE STRANGER.
